It might be easier to book your hire car from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport which is 25kms away. It takes just 30 mins along the motorway. This will give you more availability. Also it is very easy to collect your hire car from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport.
TIP: If you are arriving to Las Palmas by a cruise ship many passengers take a taxi to the airport. They then hire a car from LPA Gran Canaria airport.
A taxi from the port to the airport costs approximately 40 euros. We would always recommend that you pre-book your hire car before arriving in Las Palmas. Also pre-book your taxi to get you from your cruise ship to the airport car rental office. This will give you the best rates.

A private transfer (taxi) can be pre-booked for as little as 40 euros. Travelling time taking approximately 30 minutes (25 km), to transfer you to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport.
When you arrive at the port your driver will be waiting for you at the entrance to the port. He will then take you directly to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport.
Las Palmas is easy to drive to from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport. (Autopista GC-1, s/n, 35230, Las Palmas)
Leaving the airport head North and follow signs for the GC-1 (Las Palmas).
Stay on the GC-1 for 12km, then look for signs for GC-3.
Keep in the left lane and continue on the GC-3 for 8km
Use the right 2 lanes to merge onto GC-23 towards Puerto/Gáldar.
Stay on GC-23 for 3km and then take exit 1A. This wll take you to your destination.
There is a bus service from Las Palmas to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport. You will need Route 60 Bus. The bus station is at Santa Catalina Station. This is the official bus service connecting Las Palmas city with the airport.
Global (Guaguas) operate this bus route. Check out their website for further details.
We strongly recommend if you are arriving at the port of Las Palmas via cruise liner that you book your car hire before your arrival date at the port.
As highlighted above, there is very limited availability for car hire direct from the port in Las Palmas. This is due to just a couple of the major car rental companies being situated near the port.
