Anfi Beach Guide
Anti Beach is 45 kilometres from Gran Canaria Airport (LPA)
Anfi Beach or Anfi del Mar is located in the south on the coast road GC-500 between Maspalomas and Puerto Rico. Within just 35 minutes drive from Gran Canaria Airport, making it an ideal location. It’s a great family beach with soft white sand and calm waters. The beach has a tropical feel due to the many coconut palm trees and white sand that was imported from the Caribbean.
Anfi also has a lovely marina and enough shops and restaurants to keep you amused.
The promenade is a favourite to stroll along. Lined with many restaurants and shops that are quite upmarket and slightly more expensive than in other resorts.
If you are arriving by car you will need to find a good car park. As you enter the resort there is a big car park located near the big roundabout. Then it is just a 5-minute walk to the beach.
Beaches
Anfi del Mar
There are three artificial beaches on the island and Anfi del Mar is one of them. However, this really is a luxurious place to stay. It has all the amenities including toilets, with showers on the beach. There are sunbeds to hire, also umbrellas along parts of the beach.
There is also just off the beach a tropical garden built on an island. Visitors can walk across a small bridge onto the island for lunch or drinks.
Attractions
Maroa island
This area is an amazing little tropical island that is shaped like a heart. Here you can swim in the sea, or relax and sunbathe. The water here is really clear and clean. Therefore, look out for the fish swimming under the bridge linking the island to the beach.
Scuba Sur Diving Center
Advance divers or beginners can try their hand at diving the clear waters. They have over 20 dive sites providing different levels of diving. They are located within the resort.
Golf
This is a great course that opened in 2006. With a stunning backdrop of the granite volcanic hills, waterfalls and palm trees, and sea views it is a perfect place to swing your clubs. The 18-hole championship golf course (hosted a Spanish PGA Championship) covers an area of 650,000m². It was designed by Von Hagge, Baril, and Smelek and is a favourite for it’s a clever design.
Shopping
If you love to shop, adjacent to the beach there is a shopping centre with plenty of cafes and a supermarket. Here you will find plenty to keep any serious shopper contented.
Note: As the whole resort is a timeshare complex, you may be approached by agents selling. However, the beach and marina are public areas, so need to feel compelled to listen to them.
