According to the Aena official website, in the year 2018 there where 13,573,242 people that passed through Las Palmas Gran Canaria airport. This represented an increase of 3.7% over the previous year 2017.

Las Palmas Gran Canaria airport is sometimes known as Gando airport. It is located on the Eastern side of Gran Canaria within the Bahia de Gando (Bay of Gando).

Flight Arrivals and Departures at Las Palmas Airport

The airport has three levels, the ground level, first level, and second level.
The Arrivals Hall is located on the Ground Level. As you enter on this level you will see the gates to the left. The gates range from A1 to A15. Immediately in front and to the right are the check-in desks.
The Departure Terminal is located on the first level. It has a number of gates from C1 to C35.

There are four zones – Zone A, B, C, D.
A – Zone: flights to the other Canary Islands and Morocco.
B – Zone: flights to the major European destinations and Scandanavian destinations
C – Zone: flights to the major European destinations and Scandanavian destinations
D- Zone: used for international flights that need a higher level of security screening.

Transport Links

The main motorway on Gran Canaria is the GC1 and runs past the airport providing transport links to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the North and to the tourist resorts in the South.

Getting to and from the airport can be done by bus but generally by taxi transfer. It is advisable to make a reservation if you are catching a flight from the airport.

If you have hired a car then returning it to the airport is a simple process of following the well positioned Car Rental signs directing you to the appropriate parking bays.
